No picture from this afternoon where it’s fully installed because it was raining like hell all day. Here’s this morning after they got it off the truck and got the columns stood up but not yet placed.

Cool! What sort of structural pre-planning/modifications were necessary to support this?

The slab under the lift is a bit thicker and has more rebar in it. The concrete is 4k psi. Since the whole thing is new construction, it was an easy change to make.

12 feet, but the bridge crane eats into that a little. I just have to be careful to not run the bridge beam down the runway if there’s a car fully up in the air, because there will be a conflict.

There’s also a current conflict w/ the garage door, but the door tracks are getting reworked so the door goes straight up the wall and curves up OVER the bridge crane. It was supposed to be installed like that form the outset, but the regular garage door guy wasn’t available and the scab guy didn’t get the right info.

Is it for ease of maintenance on the ‘shoe, or for storage?

Well, that begs the question as to what’s going underneath

Mrs. Shoe Pilot has a Honda wagon that she uses for dog activities, so that’ll probably go underneath the Shoe. Our 2 dailies will get parked in the attached garage, so our house will have a car-free driveway!

I’m pretty stoked about it. Mrs. Shoe Pilot is pretty stoked about the attached garage getting emptied of all my shit :)

Awesome, my garage is around the same height as yours then. Was always curious if I could fit a lift in mine...
